Central Bank official warn that the continous weakening of the Romanian leu against the Euro in the first four days of last week may well be a correction but might as well be the beginning of a new attempt to attack Romania's currrency.
Central Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu warned last week that a new atack on the Romanian leu was coming.
"It may well be that the market has enough supply of lei, but an interested party in London, for instance, to state the contrary. However, the market has a good supply of Romanian leu. I make this statement while running the risk of being misunderstood," said Isarescu, according to Antena 3 television station.
On September 11, Isarescu told Capital.ro that a new attempts to launch an attack on the leu are underway, but that he was "watching them."
