Many Romanians chose to spend their summer vacations on the Bulgarian seashore, which excels in its all-inclusive offers that give full access to swimming pools, beach-beds and entertainment parties for kids. Some 150,000 Romanians spent their money on the Bulgarian seacoast, according to the Bulgarian news agency Novinite.
Romanian seashore had a lost of shortcomings: the highway between Bucharest and the Constanta sea port is not yet completed and the traffic comes to a virtual standstill in weekends; the sound level is too high at various night and dancing clubs which disregard that other tourists may want to rest; and the services are generally poor.
Bulgarian restaurants on the other hand quickly adapted to the demand of Romanian customers and all provide now menus written in Romanian and waiters who are either Romanians or know the language.
The all inclusive offers were in high demand among Romanians, who prefer to spend up front some 400 Euro for a seven-night stay, while knowing that they do not have to cover any other costs.
The all-inclusive means three meals in an open-buffet style, free alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic beverages between 8:00 am. And 12 pm., plus free pizzas, cakes, sandwiches or ice cream at the pool bar.
Romanian tourists generally prefer newly refurbished hotels, which have spa centers, outdoor and indoor pools and free beach-beds. Many families with kids chose to go to hotels in Albena, The Golden Sands or Balcic for the services provided to children.
The Bulgarians quickly adopted the all-inclusive service of the hospitality industry in Turkey, but they have the added advantage of being closer to Romanians' homes and cheaper than the Turkish one.
The prices in Albena, Balcic, The Golden Sands, Constantin and Elena, Sunny Beach, or Nessebar resorts stayed between 290 Euro and 650 Euro per person, per seven-night stay, pending on the stars of the hotel and its location in relation to the beach.
