Romanian director Corneliu Porumboiu received the France's title of Knight for the Arts and Literature, during the closing night of the Transylvania Film Festival taking place in Cluj Napoca, central Romania. “I would like to thank to the French ambassador to Romania for his special support towards the art films,” said Porumboiu, after receiving the medal from the French ambassador Henri Paul. Porumboiu is one of the talented new wave of Romanian directors. His film “A fost sau n-a fost?” - sIt happened or it did not happen?ţ received the 2006 Camera d’Or at Cannes, for first-time directors and the Label Europa Cinemas. The film went on to be selected in a good number of international festival where it received numerous awards.
