This is a place where the Romanian merchants can show their products and services and where they can interact with Romanian and foreign business partners. In the same time, this market is a virtual combination between a merchandise stock exchange and a general market. It’s advantageous because it is always open to all the companies no matter what city or country they are from. "It is a new service built to facilitate the business contracts, built for businessmen, Romanian and foreigners, as well as for the ones who need useful information about the business environment in Romania ", said George Cojocaru, general director president of Romexpo and president of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Romania Bucharest.

ProfitRomania has a simple structure including the next categories: Business, Collaborations, Financing, Companies, Want to buy?, Want to sell?, My account, stated Corina Ganet, marketing director of Romexpo. The registering of the companies is made online by filling in an application-form. The company will then appear in the Companies section immediately. Here one can choose from the following categories: agriculture, technique, timber and furniture, auto, services, houses, computers and IT, media and printings, tourism and resorts, fashion, cosmetics and hygiene, health, buildings and terrains. The site has links for many virtual markets in other countries, markets with which Romexpo has business connections and, this way, the Romanian offers are to be seen abroad also. On the other hand, in all the developed countries, 40% of the B2B (bank to bank) transactions are made using the virtual markets.

Business information.

The visitors and the members of this portal can find here business information coming from trustful sources. Some of them are Euractiv Belgium (European news provider), KPMG (news and tax information), RoBank (financial market analysis), the World Economy Institute (statistics, reports and macro-economical tendencies), Delos Credit Info (financial reports about the companies in Romania and the structure of their stocks).

Promotion

Until the 1st of August registering in the ProfitRomania is free for the Romexpo partners. "The commercial agents that took part in the fairs and exhibitions organized by Romexpo between 2003 and 2004 will be able to register the companies they represent for free", said Corina Ganet. From the point in which this promotion expires the portal must become profitable or at least be able to pay the costs of its launch and maintainance. In the two months that have passed from its appearance ProfitRomania has reached the eighth place in the Romanian top of sites in the business-commerce section.
