I read a headline, saying that "Ion Talpes, [former presidential adviser to President Ion Iliescu and former intelligence operative], launched the Jihad against the Social Democrat Party [to which it was a member of until recently]."

Letâs focus for now on his recent statements. One could say that the former SDP member was not really a party member, or that the former government member was not really a member of the Executive. His dozing off on the job was his greatest contribution to Romaniaâs efforts towards European Union integration.
Talpes has the nerve to volunteer information on the links between Omar Hayssam [with alleged contribution in masterminding the kidnapping of the Romanian journalists in Iraq] and the SDP, while Talpes himself had links with him he should explain.
He sure shows to have a strong character: the kind that served for 15 years former president Ion Iliescu; but when the latter fell ill and out of the grace of his fellow party members, Talpes turned his back on Iliescu and volunteered his services and all his expertise to the current president, Traian Basescu.
It is quite possible though that the stench that prompted Talpes to leave the SDP ranks to have originated from him.
