World Records Academy listed a newspapers printed in Romania, in the 19th century,  called “Zimbrulu and Vulturulu” sThe Buffalo and The Eagleţ as the most expensive paper in the world, as it carries eight stamps of the “Buffalo Head”, which was the second issue of stamps ever printed in Moldova, a Romanian region which was an independent state at the time.
The issue was exhibited at the EFIRO 2008, taking place in Bucharest these days.
The current value of the newspaper is set at 830,000 Euro. The 1858 value of the stamps was five parale slocal currencyţ each.
The “Zimbrulu and Vulturulu” paper was published in Iasi, then the capital of Moldova, and was advocating the unification of all Romanian territories in a single state. A yearly subscription cost tree galbeni slocal currencyţ.
The issue of the paper carrying the stamps was printed in May of 1858 and was the first on a stack of papers sent from Iasi to Galati, a city in southern Moldova.
The stamps on it were a special issue, since they were limited to paying for newspaper expedition.
The owners of the paper during the 19th century remain unknown, and the paper surfaced only in 1969, when the then owner presented it along his other stamps in the world stamps exhibition organized in Sofia, Bulgaria. Actually, then and there the newspaper won the first prize.
Later on the paper was bought by a Swiss collector, and was bought in early 2007, with 830,000 Euro, by its current owner: Joseph Hackmey, a stamp collector from London.
