OBSERVER - December 20th 2004
The latest figures released by BRAT (the Romanian Bureau for Circulation) confirm the spectacular evolution of Jurnalul National daily during 2004.
In October, the monthly sales of the newspaper raised to 208,524 copies, while Evenimentul Zilei daily recorded sales two and a half times lower, at 84,005 copies per issue. Adevarul daily had sales twice lower than Jurnalul National, at 108,003 copies sold per issue.
The new data show that Jurnalul National secured its strong position on the market, after constant growth this year. The most important such moments were recorded on 22 March, when Jurnalul National sold 405,571 copies; in July, when the National Study of Readership certified a rise of 100,300 in our readership; and in October, when the newspaper surpassed its own record numbers, with a plus of another 100,000 readers.
The estimates of the readership figures show that 2005 will be another record year for Jurnalul National. Official data confirming this trend are expected to be released at the beginning of February, confirming that 2004 indeed it was "the Jurnalul National Year."
