The Prime Minister Adrian Nastase was yesterday night in the USA, where for three days important external affairs issues for Romania are to be displayed.

On Monday and Tuesday, these issues are to be displayed in New York, and on Wednesday in Washington the climax of the official visit - the welcoming at the White House and the meeting with the USA President, George W. Bush - is programmed.
MEETINGS. Tomorrow, the Prime Minister Adrian Nastase chairs the Security Council Reunion with the subject "UN Cooperation - Regional Organizations in the Stabilizing Processes" and has in his agenda a meeting with Kofi Annan, the General Secretary of UN. For the "warm-up", on Monday agreements about the fight against the proliferation of nuclear material technologies are to be signed with the USA authorities, after a meeting with the Energy secretary, Spencer Abraham. At the end of the day, the Prime Minister together with Daniela Nastase, Mircea Geoana, Mihai Tanasescu, Eugen Dijmarescu and Mihnea Constantinescu and, the Prime Ministerâs guest, the new USA ambassador for Romania, Jack Dyer Crouch II, are to have a business dinner with some leaders of American companies.
About the White House meeting we know that it will last for 30 minutes, on Wednesday, from 14:25 to 14:55, and that it will be followed by official statements to the press, for another 15 minutes. For the meeting with the president George Bush the senator Simona Marinescu is also announced as a participant. Dialogues with William Frist, the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate, with the State Secretary Collin Powell and with Donald Rumsfeld, the defense secretary are programmed.
