Syrian businessman Omar Hayssam appeared in Court Wednesday, accompanied by a physician, but he could not testify, as he was still under sedation after Tuesdayâs surgery on a few malignant nodules.
Hayssam was taken in custody last year, while prosecutors investigated his alleged role in organizing the kidnapping of three Romanian journalists in Iraq last spring. He was later released from prison as he needed treatment for cancer. If Hayssam had failed to appear in court this time, as he did three times before, the court would have issued a special warrant on his name. Translated by Anca PaduraruCitește pe Antena3.ro
