Constantin Roibu, general director of Oltchim denies the rumors in the last few days that shows that "a massive dismissal of personnel - more than a thousand employees - is imminent". Roibu claims that this story is nothing but "a huge error".
The manager of the company in Valcea claims that there will be redundancies only in certain areas, meaning services that are no longer effective for the future of Oltchim. Instead, he shows that there will be a retraining of the employees, which will be re-qualified in order to participate in the emerging production activities of the factory. "Nobody discussed about massive personnel dismissals. It is true that there is a restructuring program through outsourcing of secondary activities and hence there will be an outsourcing of personnel connected with those activities, but that does not mean that we will fire people.
There is a number of employees who are near the retirement age, plus the law that does not permit the aggregation of pensions and salaries", says Roibu, quoted by Mediafax.
Regarding the takeover of the Arpechim Pitesti pyrolysis, Constantin Roibu said Oltchim is negotiating and he referred to the technological process that takes place these days at the salt mine from Ocnele Mari.
