Donât ask me anything about the first steps after the adherence. I have no idea! Donât make me live my life by the books from now on. By the books! Donât make me think this adherence is rather a handicap.

Donât suffocate my freedom with all kind of rules that have to be followed just because they are European. The officials in Brussels themselves donât go by these rules. Donât make me be more European than the Europeans, because youâre going to lose me and then you will miss me. Donât make me get across the border without a passport. My identity card was stolen and the passport is about to expire. Now, it seems supercool to illegally cross the border in the Republic of Moldova. Donât point fingers at me for not jumping for joy on the New Yearâs Eve night, on the integration night. I am under the impression that these are the very last days in which I can have fun because a very long period of being on short commons is to come. However, I believe the postlude will be much more interesting than the erection of the integration. Donât make me fly into Europe in order to see the equality between us and our fellow Europeans. I donât want to do it, because I am aware of the amount of time we will need in order to get from being Romanians to being Europeans. And I really donât want to say a word about the way the Europeans are going to welcome us. This is not the time, nor the place! Also because the young ones wouldnât be allowed to take a look at it.
