Europe, I Love You!

de Marius Tucă    |    03 Ian 2007   •   00:00

Don’t ask me anything about the first steps after the adherence. I have no idea! Don’t make me live my life by the books from now on. By the books! Don’t make me think this adherence is rather a handicap.

Don’t ask me anything about the first steps after the adherence. I have no idea! Don’t make me live my life by the books from now on. By the books! Don’t make me think this adherence is rather a handicap.
Don’t suffocate my freedom with all kind of rules that have to be followed just because they are European. The officials in Brussels themselves don’t go by these rules. Don’t make me be more European than the Europeans, because you’re going to lose me and then you will miss me. Don’t make me get across the border without a passport. My identity card was stolen and the passport is about to expire. Now, it seems supercool to illegally cross the border in the Republic of Moldova. Don’t point fingers at me for not jumping for joy on the New Year’s Eve night, on the integration night. I am under the impression that these are the very last days in which I can have fun because a very long period of being on short commons is to come. However, I believe the postlude will be much more interesting than the erection of the integration. Don’t make me fly into Europe in order to see the equality between us and our fellow Europeans. I don’t want to do it, because I am aware of the amount of time we will need in order to get from being Romanians to being Europeans. And I really don’t want to say a word about the way the Europeans are going to welcome us. This is not the time, nor the place! Also because the young ones wouldn’t be allowed to take a look at it.
Europe, I love you!
