Fight Live on Russian TV - the Bride Beaten

The reality-show fever captured the entire world’s attention. The Russians also adopted this and, for a while now, they even produce their own reality-shows. At present "OKNA" is one of the most appreciated. As far back as the first broadcasting year, the show turned out as hot.

"OKNA", in English "the Window", is a private production of TNT Russia and it has been broadcasted since July 2002. The scenario is simple: each edition shows three different stories. People come to the studio and say their story. The public listens, analyses and brings up solutions. This is what Marina Bogdanova, TNT TV representative, thinks at when referring to "the kind of show where someone’s mistakes are presented - you watch, listen and say you’ll never ever do such things". This means you get to learn something from others’ mistakes. This show’s host is Dmitry Nagiev, one of Russia’s sex-symbols (actor, former notorious DJ).

PUNCHES

For a while now, there has been a small movie on the Internet containing scandalous images from this reality-show. You rarely get to see in a show how a woman dressed-up as a bride is punched and kicked by a man which was supposed to be her husband. In order to make sure this wasn’t something "fixed", we contacted the respective TV station. This is how Marina Bogdanova told us that everything was as real as it could be, that the persons involved weren’t stuntmen. For "Jurnalul National" exclusively, the TNT TV representative told the exact story of the happenings. "the respective show was broadcasted in November 2002. The guests came to say their stories. What initially started as a joke became a real fight". Actually, the bride-to -be wanted to test her fiancée. Things went wrong. Almost everyone on the plateau got hit. The host of the show got himself punched as well.

DAMAGES

The outburst of the bridegroom-to-be caused some serious damages for the TV station. The sets were destroyed, and a few chairs got "broken" on the backs of the people on the plateau. More than that, Dmitry Nagiev, the host, went to hospital after that show. Even though many people were injured, no one sued anyone. The viewers had only one reaction: they bombarded TNT TV with letters wishing a quick and quiet recovery to sex-symbol Dmitry Nagiev.
