OBSERVER - October 9th 2004

The preparations for Prince’s Stefan Sturdza wedding are almost finished. For about a month, the hallway in Palatul Culturii in Iasi has been changed for all the 200 guests, which are to take part in the wedding of the year in Romania.

The columns in the hallway have been mended, and the Room of the Voivodes, where Stefan Sturdza, son of Prince Dimitrie Sturdza, will unite in front of God with Nina Irina Tandarica, is so clean it sparkles. The balustrades will be decorated with flowers and lights will be installed. All these with Sturdza family’s money. The bride and the bridegroom are already in Iasi. The religious ceremony, which will be performed by His Holiness Daniel, Moldova’s and Bucovina’s bishop, will begin tomorrow, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, in the Room of the Voivods, where a wooden iconostasis has been placed. After that, the guests will stay for a cocktail. The ball starts at 8 o’clock in the afternoon. The guests will also be able to dance a Moldovan round, because Sofia Vicoveanca and the most-known fiddler from across the Prut river, Nicolae Borgros, have been invited to this wedding.
