The SDP Secretary General, Miron Mitrea, is receiving help from the Israeli adviser Ron Werber, who was also used during the 1996 campaign, when the poisoned-phones scandal took place. Werber was brought back in SDP in 2004, and his honorary reaches approximately 200,000 euros.
Last week, SDP (the Social Democratic Party) faced an open scandal regarding the partyâs debts. Mircea Geoana, the SDP leader was the one that started the fight during his final speech at the SDY (Social Democratic Youth) Summer School, when he stated Adrian Nastase "left the party with a lot of debts, but he didnât bother driving Mercedes". In exchange, Adrian Nastase said he had always paid his dues and he intended to do so in the future. The former SDP President added that the money SDP obtained from selling an estate in 2005 (2 million RON) have been used to pay several advisers. On Monday, during the SDP National Permanent Bureau session, Mircea Geoana defended himself by saying he didnât have any foreign advisers, according to sources in the party. He doesnât have any, but the party has and works with the adviser of SDP Secretary General, Miron Mitrea. His name is Ron Werber and he is an Israeli adviser the help of which SDP also used during the 1996 electoral campaign. This is when the "poisoned-phones" scandal took place. The SDPR (the Social Democratic Party in Romania) members have been accused of making phone calls to the electors to "assault" them with injurious information on the competitors. THE COMEBACK. Werber was brought back into the party in 2004, when he advised the SDP members about the parliamentary and presidential elections. He was paid approximately half a million US dollars, according to sources inside the party. He remained the partyâs adviser after the elections as well and he is paid approximately 200,000 US dollars. He works mainly with Miron Mitrea with whom he organized several zonal reunions for the party. He is also one of the reasons for which Miron Mitrea caused a lot of fuss in the party, because it was supposed these reunions were made to attract certain organizations to create a "phalange party". THE CRANES WILL COME TOO. Such a zonal meeting was organized three months ago in Slobozia, when a sign for the party was proposed: a flock of birds. This started a serious controversy: what birds are those? Ducks, geese or cranes? There were many jokes about the cranes: SDP will get to be called Mitrea Crane. This doesnât seems to be contingent, because of the fact that Ron Werber created the new sign. According to the media, Werber is also the one at the base of the manifestations organized by SDP in the University Plaza in Bucharest to "celebrate" 500 days of "orange government". It seems that Ron Werber advised the SDP members to start an attack against the Government in Bucharest and in all the important cities of the country.Citește pe Antena3.ro
