The worldâs most familiar weapon, Kalashnikov, has become an argument issue between Russia and the USA.
Russia wants copyright for the weapons made in other countries, and Romania is one of them. In Bucharest, the technical of the ROMARM control, Gheorghe Stoica, says that there are no such weapons produced in our country. The AK-47 model, used by the Romanian soldiers, is a model made on the basis of a Romanian documentation, so ROMARM doesnât have to pay the license to the Russians, says BBC, assumed by Rador. ROMARM sources confirmed that Russia has raised this problem - the Kalashnikov license - few years ago. Because of the unacceptable requests of the Russian part, more precisely the retroactive payment of the license for the weapons made in Romania, negotiations are being carried for solving this problem.
