The few public appearances of Traian Basescu have already revealed the directing lines of his campaign for the return to Cotroceni. An almost absurd campaign, because Traian Basescu will be back even if he doesn't do anything until the date of the vote.
There is nothing new in the image of Traian Basescu in front of the people.
As seen in his previous speeches, Traian Basescu wants to appear as a victim of his Saint Gheorghe (whom the Romanians celebrate on the 23rd of April each year) fight against the Corrupt System.
He used this stereotypical image for thousands of time during his two years of mandate.
The new thing is that Traian Basescu hasn't changed a bit after the suspension.
The entire political destiny of Traian Basescu is dominated by bluffs and small illegalities.
The Constitutional Court was right:
Traian Basescu didn't commit serious acts that don't abide by the Consitution.
Traian Basescu committed small illegalities, typical for the Dambovita dodgers. He is not some gangster, but a pilferer.
Traian Basescu's behavior in the past few days shows that the suspension didn't have any educational effect.
Because Traian Basescu started to pilfer again.
His last three public appearances are an incredible sum of illegalities.
On Thursday night, in the University Plaza, the one pretending to be the guarantor of legality supported an unauthorized rally.
During this political rally, a hollowed flag of Romania was kept up high above the people present there and anti-democracy chants have been heard: "Down with the Parliament!"
The Great Man did not have any reaction to that!
On Thursday night he announced he would not resign. On Friday he got suspended. This way, he broke the Law of the Referendum. Article no. 30 says no electoral campaign manifestations are allowed before the Parliament publishes the decision to organize a Referendum in the Official Gazette. Traian Basescu started the electoral campaign long before this decision was taken.
The political rally in the Constitution Plaza was a clear electoral-campaign-like manifestation.
A politician that wanted to abide by the law wouldn't have accepted to take part in that rally. Moreover, if he was what he pretends to be (a fighter against corruption), Traian Basescu had questioned the funds that sponsored the entire manifestation.
The Constitution Plaza manifestation cost a lot. There was no one to question the source of the money, except the "Gardianul" newspaper. Officially, the rally has been organized by two NGOs: The Foundation for the Bucharest's Modernization and the Foundation for the Citizen's Security. Did these NGOs finance the fray on Sunday night? If yes, how did they get so much money? How could they afford to spend this money on activities that didn't have anything to do with their usual activities, without being afraid that they could get to Court because of that? If they didn't pay, who did? How did the money get to the organizers?
In his speech, Traian Basescu compared himself to Saint Gheorghe.
A Saint Gheorghe whose battle for the comeback to Cotroceni is paid by mob groups. After the 20th of May 2007, these groups will show up at Cotroceni with a bill. Asked about the rally, Calin Popescu Tariceanu said he would not comment.
Actually, Cain Popescu Tariceanu is the chief of the Government.
The Government that has to supervise the abidance of the law.
The Government that has to take care that the Referendum will not cause an influence on our political life by the illegitimate groups of interest.
Therefore, when asked about the illegalities of Traian Basescu and the Democrat Party, of the TV stations that broadcasted the events (Realitatea and antenna 3), the Romanian PM said he would not comment.
Was Calin Popescu Tariceanu confuse this morning?
Of course he didn't.
Calin Popescu Tariceanu is the NLP leader as well. The National Liberal Party is interested in not seeing the illegalities of Traian Basescu until the Referendum, in order to maintain their electorate.
Therefore, this is how cheap politicking gets more important than the compelling dignitary.
