Traian Basescu would be once again the first voting option of the Romanians if they were to vote next Sunday. However, Basescu would have less than 50% of the votes and would go to the second round with the next in line, Corneliu Vadim Tudor. This is the conclusion of a SSG (Social Studies’ Group 2000) survey made between the 20th and 27th of January 2006 on 1.086 people and was requested by Multimedia Political Communication.

Only 48.2% of the responders would vote for the present President Traian Basescu if they were to vote for the President next Sunday. The next in line is Corneliu Vadim Tudor, for whom 16.3% of the responders voted. Adrian Nastase with 10.4% and Mircea Geoana with 10% are on the 3rd and 4th place respectively.
