"The new" PSD logo - A non-issue, subject of debate for the media

Big subject for the media, lately: the so-called new PSD logo, with a flock of birds of passage instead of the 3 roses, the party’s symbol. From simple notes, to press articles and tv news, the birds-logo aroused the journalists imagination, who tried to learn which are the birds represented on the logo they saw on the walls in the local office of the PSD in Slobozia. Typically Romanian, we passed from doves, to swallows and we ended up with cranes.

THE TRUTH. Birds-logo is nothing else than an episode from a Campaign Management Program of PSD. It’s not a new logo, but an example, in an extended training program, for what "team work" means.

All around the world, any PR specialist can tell you that wild geese (cause we’re talking about wild geese!) are a symbol of the universal value of team work. A simple search on the Net proves it, the illustration with a natural phenomena being used even in economy, to explain a particular economical growth.

THE V FORMATION. Dozen of experts around the world use this type of flying in V formation of the wild gees flocks as a methodological example in their programs for the local teams, as it’s the case of the PSD, as an inspiration for the team work. Well informed sources inside the party said that the campaign management training program started in February, with an aim to prepare the party activists for the next elections. The program is coordinated by an international expert who succeded with the same training in Central and East European countries last years.

Two days ago, Cristian Diaconescu, the spokesperson of the party, told the press that it’s not the case, for the moment, to rebrand the party symbols. "There is an extended debate on an issue which, it seems, was a local initiative", said Diaconescu, refering to the logo which appeared on the walls in that office in Slobozia. It would be funny, if it weren’t sad, the fact that a non-issue becomes a debate in the press, only because no one has the mood to understand the real issue.
