The Pink Note: DP Quitting the Government

The DP (the Democratic Party) Ministers might leave the Government in the case of "an unprecedented abuse", of an "extremely controversial thing", according to the DP leader, Emil Boc.

The appearance of the note through which Prime Minister Tariceanu seems to have asked President Basescu for an intercession for Dinu Patriciu could determine the DP members to quit the Government coalition. Sources inside the DP leading board speak about this move of the democrats in case Calin Popescu Tariceanu would not resign.

CONTEXT. On Monday night, during a TV show on Antena 3, the DP president, Emil Boc, talked for the first time about the possibility of his party leaving the Government. "We hope that no situation or decision or extremely controversial thing will make us get there. We are not applying any premeditated strategy to get out of the Government together with our Ministers and we hope we will never be forced to take such a decision.", Emil Boc stated. DP could make that step in the case of an "extremely incorrect and illegal decision", of an "unprecedented abuse" or of a "major political crisis", he emphasized. The discussion on the show was about the note that Tariceanu seems to have sent to Basescu to ask for an intercession for Dinu Patriciu at the General Prosecutors’ Office. Boc refused commenting the note until its contents would be made public, but he emphasized the PM’s antecedent with the phone to the Prosecutors’ Office. Actually, Emil Boc spoke about Tariceanu in the same way President Basescu did, showing that the chief of the Executive preferred a relation "oriented to the groups of interest" instead of collaborating with the President ("This is the real problem!"). The relations between DP and NLP (the National Liberal Party) started "to get cold" when Tariceanu announced he had changed his mind about the before-term elections, even though the democrats and the liberals had already established this thing and this "can’t be forgotten so easily". Boc emphasized once again the need for before-term elections, even though he showed he didn’t think they were possible anymore.

THE BRIDE. As for the Alliance, it is not a "blooming bride", but a "wife after two years of marriage", taking into consideration that "the most serious problems appear in the first years" and it can be taken to Court with or without the agreement of both sides. This is how Boc described the NLP-DP relation. Until getting to Court, the Government will go on with the support of "NLP, DP, DUHR", while "the Conservatory Party adapts to each situation, the Great Romania Party votes depending on the people in the room, on the latest poem written by Mr. Vadim Tudor". What’s there to be done? "Before-term elections!", Boc answers.
