After the discussion on Wednesday night with the president Iliescu, the Great Romania Party (GRP) president, Corneliu Vadim Tudor, let fall that his party is open to take part into a Governmental alliance with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), if the result of the elections this autumn will allow it.
"GRP has been in the opposition for 13 years now and, if this is to happen for four more years, weâll count 17. This is a situation that cannot continue anymore", C. V. Tudor. He stated that if the National Liberal Party (NLP) - Democratic Party (DP) alliance will lead Romania it would mean the greatest "adversity" that could ever happen for us.
HIDDEN PARTS. One first reaction of SDP came from the partyâs spokesman Titus Corlatean. "This is an attempt of C. V. Tudor, without any chances of success in the future, to create two political figures like Ion Iliescu and Adrian Nastase. This is not his first attempt and this is not only C. V. Tudorâs attempt. There were others who tried this in the past. Letâs not forget that C.V. Tudor is in an electoral campaign and uses this type of argumentation to induce some destabilization elements, from his point of view, towards SDP, and his leading board⦠This kind of logics and argumentation are to fail", stated Corlatean to BBC.
MEETING. The executive president of SDP, Octav Cozmanca, stated yesterday that one month ago he had a meeting with the GRP president, C. V. Tudor to discuss about the formation of the county councils. "So what if I went to his house? Is that house plagued? Didnât he meet Basescu (the DP president) at "Pescarus"? I donât like going to the ale house", said Cozmanca. He added that he is going to meet again with C. V. Tudor if necessary. He continued by saying that, for the time being, SDP didnât think about making any alliance with GRP. "No, for the time being we havenât thought about something like that", answered Cozmanca to a question referring to this matter.
