Pope Benedict the Sixteenth has donated 25,000 US dollars to the suffering people in Moldova.

Jean-Claude Prisset, the apostolic nuncio for Romania and the Republic of Moldova, appealed Rome for help for the suffering people in Moldova. The Iasi Bishopric has also called the papal religious people to contribute "with facts and prayers for the people suffering from the floods".
