"The steps the Emil Boc Executive took to counter the economic crisis are funny, if not outright dangerous," Central Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu commented. It was the first time he embarked on a straightforward attack on the Government.
"I would be mean if I would simply state all that crosses my mind right now. But, in a way, I am still saying it: if you look at the steps taken by the Government one could see that 90% of those push the economy towards an abrupt adjustment," Isarescu said.
He warned the state should tighten its expenses and enforce a semblance of fiscal order, or else commercial banks will not lend it money anylonger.
