Much Ado about Nothing, Mutu

The sports commentator of the CFR Cluj - Athletic Bilbao soccer match, broadcast Saturday on Pro TV television station, kept viewers on their toes with announcing every other minute that an exclusive interview with Adrian Mutu was about to be broadcast. The crawler also carried the earth shattering news.

When finally the interview started, it was Mutu all right, in front of his parents’ house porch.

The female reporter craned her neck over the fence and shouted: "Adi, come over here."

Mutu did turn to her and said: "Thank you for calling, but please do leave now."

The reporter insisted: "Take out of the house your girlfriend too; that would be a nice behavior from you…"

Lucky him the reporter did not start shouting back to the people inside the house: "Consuelo sname of Mutu’s fiancéet, come out to get you on camera, for that would be a nice behavior from you!"

The soccer player complied with the request, but asked journalists to take only pictures of his fiancée and not ask questions. The beautiful brunette waved her hand to the camera, but Mutu took her inside the house.

The second part of the extensively advertised interview with Mutu belonged to another reporter who said that he just bumped into Mutu at the airport, while the more accurate statement would have been that he waited for hours for Mutu’s plane to arrive.

The so-called interview consisted in a few questions Mutu answered to in few words, which confirmed what everybody already knew: that he will marry in the fall the woman from the Dominican Republic.

The real news seemed to be only that Mutu had a short hair-cut, as his fiancée asked him to. Mutu and his future wife were to travel to the Dominican Republic to introduce Mutu to his future parents-in-law.
