National Fame

There are famous countries and anonymous countries. There are quiet countries. They are boring countries that the people avoid because they just waist their time. There are countries that use their sensational past to manage to get through the day. There are countries in which one can trust and countries one is afraid of. A country has to have a message for the world. It has to use its celebrities to become famous. There are approximately 150 countries in the world, but few of them appear in all the pictures (10, maybe 20).

Let’s go step by step: Switzerland is beautiful and with a lot of banks. France is easy and yummy (and odoriferous). Italy wears nice clothes and shoots the prosecutors. America is on the high ropes, but makes the coolest movies. Russia was something in the past, but, now, is getting drunk with the money from the oil. Japan makes cassette recorders, Venezuela makes a lot of scandal due to its leader, Chavez, the North Korea creates atomic bombs and hunger. Some countries are so religious that one can hardly disturb them: Saudi Arabia. There are immoral and free countries in which one can hardly be convinced to let his child go to school: Holland. There are countries in which the cold is very obvious, even if they think it’s hot: Sweden or Norway. There are countries in which one can surely fry up. There are mean countries, which treat you badly: Somalia. There are good, nice countries that smile and delicately take you’re money out of the pockets: Greece, Turkey and a few more. All the things I wrote above can be reproduced and admitted by almost all the people in this world, no matter the education they have received. In order to be famous, a country doesn’t have to be big and wealthy. For example, Luxembourg cannot be located on a map, but everyone knows it exists. In Europe, right?

Like in the cases of the actors or TV stars, the fame of a country has a serious influence on its incomes as well, even though this is a different mechanism. One thing is for sure: the countries with a good image have an easy life, like England; the countries suspected of showing off are seen a little different: Barbados, Trinidad or Indonesia. The countries with good image don’t make money just from tourism, but from investments as well: factories and plants. China works fast and cheap, so everyone produces there. Is it cool to be Chinese? Opinions differ.

Where is Romania? Is it famous, is it anonymous? Ok, let’s say that if it was a TV star, Romania would be a lady in her 40s, a gymnast in her youth; at the age of 30 she would have become the lover of a sadistic man, which she had killed in the past. She would have a grandpa that uses to drink blood and another one who uses to drinks. She is still quite pretty, but she uses a lot of make-up. She graduated from high-school, but she introduces herself as a person with PhDs in several important areas. She would work hardly, but only on a schedule that would keep her at work at 6:00 p.m. the most. She speaks English with a slight influence that the foreigners don’t know if it is sexy or Slavonian. The most important thing is that she is available. She will soon have enough money for the boob-job, if the GDP increases in the same manner.

Will our country ever be famous? It mustn’t think this is something patriotic. Because this means fever, fever means nervousness and nervousness means the end.
