Summer Fair at Moeciu

Tourists are eagerly waited for to participate at the Summer Fair at Moeciu, organized this week-end by the Brasov City Hall and the National Association for Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism in Brasov County. All sorts of artistic programs and folklore shows as well as awards-earning contests for the best workers in husbandry will take place. Tourists would be able to both admire and buy folk art objects as well as a wide variety of cheeses prepared according to traditional recipes. Not to be missed are the smoked cheese, the one made in fir-tree bark, the feta-like cheese and the one and only Moeciu cheese-ball.

New Web-Site for Tourist Information

Foreign tourists envisaging a trip to Romania have now a new alternative source of information at www.spirit.ro. They will see there pictures of some of the best sights in Romania and also be able to read travel-journals of foreigners who embarked before them on trips to discover Romania. A special feature of the web-site enables one to plan ahead a tour of Romania according to one’s final destination or the amount of money one is willing to spend.

A Sports Contest in the Danube Delta

The 16th edition of the sports contest "Sea-Gull" will take place at Crisan, in the Danube Delta, during this week-end. The participants will compete in angling contests and in day-time and night-time orientation contests. Quizzes, alpinism, cross-country running, folklore and general culture knowledge would be tested too. On Saturday, the competitors will have a few hours to themselves, for a trip around the Delta, while the accommodation is set to take place in tents.
