16 Aug 2004   •   00:00

OBSERVER - 16 august 2004
Rumors had it before and now it was proven to be true: the Acasa TV channel is producing the first Romanian soap-opera.
SEBASTIAN S. EDUARD
The cast includes Alexandru Papadopol, Corina Danila and Oana Zavoranu. The full cast includes 20 actors selected from 250 who auditioned. They are both professional actors and television anchors and performers. The main parts went to Corina Danila, Oana Zavoranu, Alexandru Papadopol and child-actor Catinca Untaru.

The plot follows the well-known line of South American soap-operas, but with a foothold in Romanian reality.
The characters, be they positive or negative, are very strong willed, starting with Dan (Alexandru Papadopol) who is a widower and a successful architect who raises by himself his daughter Bianca (Catinca Untaru). While Andreea (Oana Zavoianu) is an ambitious singer very full of herself, and Ana (Corina Danila) is the girl’s English teacher and a beautiful, modest woman. The two women are fighting for Dan’s heart and, as you know soaps may only have a happy-ending, you may guess who the winner will be.
