The National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) has decided that the price of gas delivered to the population would remain unchanged.
"Due to the requests of the gas distributors, ANRE decided that the price of the gas delivered to the population would remain unchanged. However, we will consider a decrease in gas prices, by a few percentages, for July 1st as well as for October 1st, Peter Lificiu, the ANRE president, said.
The last price increase was by 12.5% for the Distrigaz customers and by 11.6% for those of E. ON Gaz.
A recent information from ANRE shows that the gas prices could fall by 12% in the second quarter of 2009 after the price of gas imports decreased greatly, from 540 USD per one thousand cubic meters of gas, while Gazprom estimated an average price of 208 USD for this year.
