The Pausinis May Invest In Romanian Tourism

The parents of singer Laura Pausini are interested in buying the Vidra resort, in Romania. A representative of the Pausini family recently visited the resort in County Valcea and made an offer.

The Pausinis are not the only people eyeing the Vidra resort; local officials would have liked to own the place too, only that all offers so far did not match the high level of investment needed.

"No matter who will invest in Vidra resort, it is important they will indeed act as serious, long term investors, because the resort has a lot of potential and could turn into a real gem, but it needs a high level of commitment from its future owners.
Millions of dollars in investments would be needed over at least 20 yeas," said Constantin Parvu, local trade-union leader who was contacted by the Pausinis. For the time being Vidra resort looks like a deserted place, not like the money making place Parvu dreams it to be.
